Since she has turned one, she has become quite the walker. Addison began walking at 11 1/2 months and has not slowed down one step since. She is now running with great ease and loves this motion both in the water and on land. She is not so graceful in the water running category which often leads us into full submersion under water. She is quite the swimmer/water baby. She loves the sprinkler, back yard pool, big pools, the ocean and water parks.
While she is the best baby we could have asked for, she has begun to throw the occasional fit. If she does not get what she wants, she will cry until a) we give in b) we give her her "binx" or c) she gets tired. I know this is part of it, but we are willing to ride this phase out as the episodes are relatively infrequent.
I LOVE to be the one that gets you up in the mornings. You still never cry when you awake. You simply turn your music on and lay down for a while and then sit/stand up when you are ready for someone to come get you. When we get in your room, you say 'hello' which makes us smile EVERY day. We then ask you to take "binx" out and put it in your bed and to turn your music off. You do each of these things and then join us for breakfast - at all meal time you are always fascinated by the lights. We love each morning with you as you wake up on the right side of the bed each day!
These days you still LOVE books over toys any day. Lisa (she is watching you 2 days/week this summer) and Dad spend a good portion of each day reading to you. You love your alphabet books, flap books and any book by Sandra Boynton.
You are trying to mimic each word we say. Your current stand alone vocabulary includes mama, dada, PaPa, baba (bottle), no, ss (yes), nah (no), chss (cheese), hi, bye-bye, wow. There are a number of others that it sounds like you say, but those are the ones you can say at any given time.
You now will actually kiss and hug us along with your kisses you blow. Dad has taught you to blow on my leg so at any given moment you will walk up to me and blow on my leg so proud of what you have done. It is adorable and really does tickle so we all laugh together.
You are such an incredible joy and it pains me to think that I will ever forget any of the wonderful moments that we share together. God gave us an incredible gift in Addison Blair and we truly do treasure every moment!
