We now look like a house!
So I know it has been roughly a month since my last post, but things have been a bit hectic to say the least. Now that we are back around our families, it seems that there are constantly people to go eat with, people to drop in for a visit with, not to mention activities at church and in the community. We are really enjoying it here, but I never would have guessed our life in the small town would be this crazy. It is a different kind of pace than San Antonio and one that we both love.
As far as the house goes, a lot has happened since my last post. We now have a frame (which is covered here in Tyvek- which is like the 'skin' pre-brick), windows, a roof, and painted exterior, and all of our plumbing, security, cable, electric, etc. that has to be put in before the walls are insulated and sheet rocked. We will begin the insulation process tomorrow and sheet rock will start on Friday. The masons will arrive next week so the house will really start to take shape. It was extremely overcast today, so by the time I arrived at the house, you couldn't see a lot from the inside, so this is exclusively an outside picture post. I am going to ask Monty to take some pictures of the insulation process because it has the best of my curiosity. I will try to be much better with my posts, especially when it comes to the selection of tile/wood, paint, etc. We are thrilled with the progress and can't wait to share more with you. Sorry!

About Me
- Lauren and Monty
- Our story began in 1997 during our sophomore and junior years of high school in Mineral Wells, Texas. Being the older siblings of sisters, we would occasionally have to provide transportation for the two girls, who happened to be friends. Monty and I became acquainted on one such drop off, and as they say the rest is history. Following graduation, Monty and I moved to College Station to attend Texas A&M and discover what the world had to offer. As luck would have it, our relationship continued to grow during our time in college, and Monty proposed in December 2003. Following a wonderful engagement, we were married on June 4, 2005. Following our honeymoon, we moved to San Antonio for Monty to work as a custom home builder and for me to begin my career as a CPA with a focus in audit. After three wonderful years in San Antonio, we said goodbye to all of our friends in July 2008 and made the move back to Mineral Wells where it all began for Monty to begin his own homebuilding business. We are very excited to see what the future holds and share those times with you....
